Sister/Friend Love
I love how this canvas art piece turned out. I used dabber paints for the background color and music stamp. The tag had been made for a challenge and I hate to waste a great tag so I made it into a piece of canvas easel art that is now for sale in my BlueRoomInk etsy shop. ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/BlueRoomInk) I am making lots of items so that I have a good inventory for the July Avante-Garde art and craft show in Cleveland July 29th.
Technique 3: Marbled Stains
The technique is a fun one but out of respect to Tim Holtz I will not share my methods. You need to buy the book yourself and dive in! You will not regret it for one single minute.

Tag Art
I love how this tag turned out....but in the process I had made lots of mistakes but I just kept on creating and covering them up with new ideas and voila! I plan on using this in my next art piece for my etsy store. http://www.etsy.com/shop/BlueRoomInk
Jalopy Scene
Here is a fun canvas art piece that I made. The umbrella man and jalopy are adhered with pop dots. The jalopy is covered in black distress embossing powder so it gives it a rustic appearance. I thought the sentiment was perfect for this scene! It is for sale in my etsy store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/BlueRoomInk
Technique 2: Faux Patina
Here is my entry to the A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2, page 58 for http://www.studiol3.blogspot.com/ You need to buy this book by Tim Holtz to learn of the techniques.

Textured Face
I love how this textured canvas turned out! I started by making a tag and before you know it I was adhering it to a canvas and then textured the canvas with crackle paint and distress stains. I love the effect it gives. I added the flower and the knob for a bit of 3D quality. It is on pinterest and has had a few repins and it is for sale in my etsy shop. Just click BlueRoomInk underneath my etsy store gadget on the right hand side of my blog.

I have been published!!! Woo Hoo!
Okay...maybe this is a scrapbooking or art project but it is another type of creation. I wrote an article for a contest in Ladies Home Journal last November....well, I didn't win the contest but they sent me an email telling me that they were overwhemed with over 3400 entries! They then said I could submit my story to their "sister" site called DevineCaroline and possibly get published. Well, I got that email in March and figured...what were my chances....I saw the email in my pile of old emails last week and decided to give it a try...Last night i received an email that I was published!!!!! Here is my article. I just thought I would share it. Since I have written this my brother has retired as of January and I no longer am working as his dental hygienist. The article was great closure for me.

Hickory Dickory Dock
This is an 8 inch x 10 inch canvas/paper art piece. The nursery rhymes were written on card stock with a purple glitter pen and hand colored. They shimmer in the light. It has been embossed with clock works on part of the paper and lightly inked with pink distress ink. The background of the canvas has been inked and treated to give a mottled appearance then stamped over top of it with different clock stamps. It stands by a large easel and would look darling in a little girl's nursery. This is a one of a kind available in my etsy shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/BlueRoomInk

Textured Frame
Learn to Pause
I created this for my shop. I love how the background turned out. I learned how to do it from the Tim Holtz online Chemistry 101 class. It was well worth the 35.00! I just posted this in my etsy store. I have to get my inventory up for the July show in Cleveland that I have been accepted to participate in. It is an exciting new adventure!

A Fun Tag
Baby Card
Baby Book for Shower Gift
My daughter-in-law is having her first baby shower this Saturday so I thought I had better make something to add to the gift that I am giving her. This is what I came up with. I couldn't find the baby word book in any of my craft stores so I designed it on my gypsy and I made the faux chipboard by cutting poster board and used multi-medium to adhere them together. I love how it turned out! I used Sweet Pea by The Paper Studio paper stack....yummy colors! It is a boy but I didn't want to make it totally boyish since they can be wrong sometimes. Baby isn't due until July 14th!
