My Mom is going to celebrate her 87th birthday on Nov. 13. We are going out to dinner to celebrate and I have always wanted to try an explosion box card. She is the perfect person to give it to. I had fun making this. I got my instructions from http://paperpastime.com/. Denise has a video that you can watch. The cake is a bit tricky. I added the icing by using the Icicles punch by Martha Stewart. I thought that really complimented the cake and helped to hide imperfections around the cake. I printed a small picture of my Mom and placed it in the oval frame. She loves pink and purple so I really did it up in her colors.

What a fabulous explosion box!! I've done the box but I've never seen the cake in the center before-that is awesome!! Love the colors too and the icicle icing adds so much. Great card/box-I'm sure your Mom will love it too!!
ReplyDeleteWow this is fabulous. I made a picture explosion box for my 89 year old mom on mothers day. I don't think I have ever seen a 3-d cake like this before. It is fabulous. How did you do it? I might have to scraplift for my moms 90th in April! Let me know.
ReplyDeleteI went to the link but could not find the instructions. I just love this card. Such detail. I hope your mom enjoys it.
