Working with a Different Kind of Paper

I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't disappeared!!!! I simply am working with a different kind of paper these days. I decided to strip the wall paper in my kitchen and re-decorate!!! Woo Hoo!!! What a job! I found my little old steamer and if it weren't for it I would never be able to get this off. My house is in dire need of re-decorating. I had been so busy with my kids for the past 20 years that I haven't had the time. No greater time than now when the snow is keeping us inside! A big blizzard is on its way so I will be scrape, scrape, scrapin' away!!!!! Here is a picture of the latest book that I made at my last weekend crop. The colors aren't as vivid because I took the pictures with my new phone. But they aren't bad considering that I used my phone camera. I bought this 6 x 6 inch grunge board book kit from Archivers. I used lots of distress inks and Tim Holtz masks and stamps. Most of the papers are from his paper pack as well. The back of the book is stamped with Tim's clock and wings meaning "time flies"! Ha! These are some really old photos that we took in a photo booth in Myrtle Beach some 25 years ago!!! I hope you all survive the blizzard!

Christmas Album

I am home from my weekend crop at a B&B! It was a good time. The food was to die for. All home cooked meals and midnight snacks too! My scale isn't liking it plus I woke up today with another cold....ugh!!!!! I need to feel well so that I can continue to create and exercise! I have stayed packed from this past weekend because I am going to another over night crop this Sat. I hope I feel better by then. I am notorious for staying up to the wee hours of the morning while on these trips so I am sure that is why I got sick again. I can't help it, once I get to work I don't want to stop! Here are a couple of the pages from my Christmas album. I bought these papers at archivers on the way to the crop. I loved them! I used perfect pearls spray to color the book plate on the top photo. It shimmers very well in person but not so much in the photo. In the Santa page I took a picture of the boxes and tags that I made for some of my daughter's gifts.

Bed and Breakfast Crop

I am at a bed and breakfast crop with some friends. We filled the house with 12 ladies and it is very nice. Here is a tag that I worked on using perfect pearls for the first time. They are so easy and fun to use. I watched Tim Holtz's demo on his web site and viola! They come out so beautiful. The tag is prettier in person. The photo does not show the true shimmer.

Blog Award

Paula at http://raspberryandlimedesigns.blogspot.com/ has given me an award! She is a sweetie and her blog is a must to visit! So I have to list three things that make me different than anyone else....hmm....this may be tough, let's see.
1. I am able to multi-task better than most people. For instance, tonight I was putting together a shelf that I bought for my scapping table while printing my pictures from Chirstmas while watching the ThirtySomething DVD (remember that show anyone?) and surfing the web while texting with 2 of my 4 children. (and this was a slow night...Ha!)
2. I love to write and have actually started two different books...maybe if I wouldn't try to do so much of everything else I would actually finish one.
3. I had to have a pacemaker put in when I turned 50yrs. old ( due to a rare condition called Mobitz Heartblock 2, hence, a faulty electrical problem) but I haven't let it stop me. I ran my first 10K last summer with one of my daughters and I run during the winter at a gym 3-5 miles a few times per week.
Next I have to nominate 5 other people for this award. What a great way to visit some other talented peoples' blogs!!!!!

MPS Design Team Challenge....a bit too late

I got some of my mojo back and decided to try to squeeze into MPS design team challenge. I have been sick throughout the holiday and finally got the urge to create late tonight! But it looks like I am a bit late. The link was closed....Oh well....maybe next time. I made this 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base using brown cardstock. I layered the light green at 5 1/4 x 4 inch cardstock. The dark green is 5 1/8 x 3 7/8 inch cardstock. The snowflake green measures 5 x

3 5/8 inch. The mittens were cut at 3.5 inches from Simply Charmed cartridge. I just flipped the one mitten to make the other hand. The printed paper is just from my stash. The pink cardstock is coordinations. I used green gems from TPC Studio Christmas Village mini jewels for the mittens' eyes. I attached a piece of brown floss thread that I had used in my cross stitch days. The "Together" stamp is from MPS Family and Friends stamp set. The "the perfect pear" stamp is from studio G clear stamps. Enjoy!

Under the Weather

Ugg! I have really been sick over the holidays! I haven't had the energy to create a thing. Also my four children came home for Christmas so my blueroom became my daughter's bedroom again. Therefore, I was without a scrap room! I needed a break since I did all of my Christmas cards this year. I am going on a weekend crop mid January so I better get prepared for that. This one is a bed and breakfast house and we have filled it with 12 ladies. We will have the house to ourselves and will be pampered with fine meals too. Hopefully I will be fully recovered by then. I am 90% better but really tired out. Happy creating to you all!
